Life can be an enormous thunderstorm, of constant struggles and chaos where it gets difficult to see past the dark clouds and to reach out to the silver lining. Stressing out and putting yourself in a state of anxiety is never the solution. Instead it deteriorates the situation more by swallowing you entirely.
Stress is not just problematic for a certain moment- it gets worse day by day and leads to a constant depression which is a real health risk. Here a few ways to combat stress that can aid in making your lives easier to handle.
Stop, Breathe and Relax:
Just slow down your cluttered mind and absorb the feelings that have engulfed your mind and heart. Listen to yourself. What do you want? What is wrong? Inhale and exhale several times. This will kick out your anxiety, and you will be relaxed for a while, at least till you can figure out a solution.
Positive affirmations:
Remind yourself how lucky you are to survive another day and woke up alive, with all your blessing still intact. Tell yourself that you are beautiful and courageous, and you can do everything, and you are not a coward who stresses and hides behind the obstacle. Face them, be optimistic and be thankful for an amazing life.
Laugh out Loud:
Laugh! Laugh till your stomach hurts, and you can’t do it anymore. Laugh till you no longer have any bad thought on your mind, stressing you out. Laugh till you feel good enough to think of possible solutions instead of panicking.
Involve in something that makes you happy:
What do you love to do? What makes you happy? Create your well-being and do all of that stuff that can cheer up your mood. These may include an evening yoga, going for a run, cooking, and drawing, going out with friends or perhaps anything. Take your mind off that stressful event and indulge yourself in other activities.
Reach out:
Reach out to your two friends and family members, who can support you through this stressful time. Listen to what they have to say and see if it makes sense. Express yourself and relax because there are people who will always be there for you, in every distressed situation. Ask your friends are a little pick-me-up-they will boost your mood in minutes!
Eating comfort food:
Digging into a little comfort food might not be a healthy way to reduce stress, but most of the people do exercise it because it helps. It aims for a quick mood booster and an energy lift. From mac and cheese to chocolate, everything works.
Be in nature:
Gardening, walking barefoot on the grass, soaking in the sunlight are just a few examples of how you can be in nature and avoid stressful situations. It reduces depression and helps you to fight against anxiety.
Telling someone to calm down might be easy for that person to utter, but not very easy for the stressed person to implement accordingly. It’s your time now to lead your life how you want it to be! So let’s apply these simple tricks in our life to avoid depressed situations and we can cherish every moment of our life!
