3 Myths about Weight Loss You Shouldn’t Believe

Weight Loss

There are many different myths which have been attached to weight loss over the years, and it’s not necessary that each and everyone would be true. We have narrowed the super long list into the top 3 myths which you should not believe when creating a plan for yourself. Forget about these myths and create a diet plan the right way!

Myth #1: You should have a cut off time for eating

Popular opinion states that you should have a time at night after which eating should not take place (what a downer on midnight snacks, right?). However, the time you stop eating has nothing to do with the amount of weight you lose. It’s the number of calorie intake you have per day that counts in your weight loss plan. Hence, snacking after 8 is entirely permissible as long as you choose your snacks wisely.

Myth #2: Deprivation is the way to go

This myth states that we should avoid any and all carbs, sugars, fats and anything else that has the potential to be stored as fat. However, dietitians have found that deprivation is not the key to weight loss as we are creatures who enjoy pleasure and once we get even a slight taste of foods that we love (pizza, ice cream, pasta to just name a few), then we are bound to consume a larger portion of these foods just to stifle our endless cravings. Hence, moderation is the key to a successful weight loss plan.

Myth #3: Skipping meals can make a huge difference

This is not the way to go when you’re trying to create the perfect weight loss plan. If you starve your body for even a short period, your metabolism rate can slow down considerably, and this can be very disadvantageous to your overall plan. Instead of skipping meals, you should start eating foods that are more filling or are lower in calories as this can allow you to eat less, but feel satiated. What’s more is that if you skip meals, you won’t have the energy to go through any of the intense workout sessions you have lined up for the day.

Hence, when making a weight loss plan, it is important to get your facts straight and to research on your different strategies to see what different dietitians have to say about the diet you have planned. If you can get your facts straight, we guarantee that you will achieve success and then some!
